It Belongs In A Museum!

Updated: Oct 18, 2021

For Halloween this year, I am working on some Indiana Jones props. With any luck, I'll have these completed by then. I am looking forward to learning more about post-processing with these pieces and sharing my journey with you.

Staff of Ra

The Head Piece to the staff of Ra, created by youngs66. You can find it on thingiverse here.

I printed this on my FLSUN Q5 using eSun Yellow PLA+ at 200/60.

This was sliced in Cura using the default FLSUN QQ profile set on Fine 0.1, with no supports, using a brim. Speed was set to 30mm/s. The infill was set to 10%.

Cross of Coronado

The Cross of Coronado, created by V0g3I. You can find it on thingiverse here.

I printed this on my FLSUN Q5 using eSun Yellow PLA+ at 200/60. I had to scale the part down to 85% to fit on the build plate.

The top was sliced in Cura using the default FLSUN QQ profile set on Draft 0.2, with no supports. Speed was set to 60mm/s. The infill was set to 10%.

The bottom was sliced in Cura using the default FLSUN QQ profile set on Fine 0.1, with no supports. Speed was set to 30mm/s. The infill was set to 10%.

The shafts for the pearls (the ones not included on the top print) and the hook was sliced in Cura using the default FLSN QQ profile set on Draft 0.2, with no supports, using a brim. Speed was set to 60mm/s. The infill was set to 10%.

The Crucifix Jesus

The Crucifix Jesus figure I used was created by GILLESBOENISCH and can be found on thingiverse here. Please note that this figure is hollow. You can probably find other good examples to use though.

To scale this correctly, I opened the top cross part in Cura and had it scaled to 85% to fit. Then I opened this object and scaled it to 70% to fit correctly on the cross. It took some adjustments to find the best fit, but once done, I was able to remove the cross and slice the figure.

The Crucifix Jesus was sliced in Cura using the default FLSUN QQ profile set on Fine 0.1. The figure was rotated about 20 degrees with the feet touching the build plate. Tree supports and a brim were used. Wall count was set to 2, infill set to 100%, but this still ended up a bit thin in some spots and supports had to be carefully removed to not damage it.

Holy Grail

The Holy Grail was created by MTSpace Designs. You can find it on thingiverse here.

Both the top and bottom were sliced in Cura using the default FLSUN QQ profile set on Draft 0.2, with no supports. Speed was set to 60mm/s. The infill was set to 10%.

Fertility Idol

The Fertility Idol was created by McKrats. You can find it on thingiverse here.
