Creality Ender 3 - the BEST 3D Printer for beginners

Updated: Sep 13, 2021

When I started looking for a 3D Printer, it took me a while to research many possible options. Creality quickly became the front runner, and I eventually got the Creality Ender 3.

I have not been disappointed!

This printer is a workhorse! It has a decent build plate of 220x220x250mm and can resume printing if it stops due to a power outage.

Creality includes everything you need to build the Ender 3 out of the box. Everything but time. It does take time to complete the build. Please do not rush through it. Take your time, configure everything and test everything before jumping right into your first print you have been dying to print since before you even bought it.

Upgraded Parts

This printer is easily upgradable; however, I strongly suggest avoiding most upgraded parts until after you get the hang of using it out of the box.

I said most.

Here are the ones I suggest, because it is easier to install them during the build of the new printer than after, or because they will save you headaches down the road.

These springs are superior to the stock springs and allow for a level and forget setup.

It would help if you had these for sure. These provide a non-stick cover over the hot end of the printer. If/when your filament leaks out, this will prevent it from being a substantial blobby mess that will take you a good bit of time to clean off.

The stock extruder is plastic, and you will have trouble with it after a while. Save yourself the headache and get this first and install it with the initial build. No worrying about the plastic extruder breaking if you don't have one from the start.

Filament

I suggest buying at least some filament along with the printer. My go-to brand is eSun. Starting with eSun Black and eSun Cool White will do.

Now that you have purchased your 3D Printer, it's time to assemble it! Luckily, we have you covered with some great information on how to properly assemble your 3D Printer.
